The ultimate functional backpack with detachable daypack
A trip with complex luggage requirements can hardly be mastered more practically than the Great Escape 75+10 actually: With a stately volume of 75 liters, the large backpack can easily piggyback its small 10-liter daypack during trekking days or on the way to the airport. Just as easy, however, it can be removed and stowed separately in the hand luggage compartment when the large trekking backpack travels as checked baggage of the plane. The backpack system is made of a smart material combination of different polyamide and polyester textiles, which ensures a durable quality with waterproof properties.
Main backpack (75 liters)
Y1 carrying system for heavy loads
The backpack, designed for heavy loads with its 75 liters, has been equipped by Tatonka according to the requirements with the high-performance Y1 carrying system. This system allows for efficient distribution of the load from the shoulders and the ergonomically shaped, padded shoulder straps to the hip belt, which is also ergonomically shaped, and can be individually adjusted to the back length to ensure back-friendly carrying comfort. The hip belt can be fitted with the Tatonka hip belt bag (item 1340) if required.
As a valuable bonus, the backpack is equipped with an integrated cover, behind which the entire back system can also be stowed. This protects the backpack with its straps and loops during transport on airplanes or conveyor belts.
Compartment layout
Measuring 74 x 33 x 23 cm and weighing only 2.30 kg, the 75-liter backpack features a generous main compartment opening with lockable zippers that make access as easy as possible.
The main compartment of the backpack has several slide-in compartments to keep your luggage neat and secure. With the integrated compression straps, the contents can be securely fixed in the main compartment to prevent slipping during the trip. The bottom compartment is separate from the main compartment, making it ideal for stowing wet clothes, shoes or a sleeping bag.
For ease of use, the backpack is equipped with handles on the top and bottom, where it can be conveniently lifted or or set down without having to use the carrying straps. A convenient slip pocket on the inside also allows you to safely store and quickly access smaller items, EDC or documents.
Daypack (10 liters)
The shoulder straps of the large backpack have attachment loops to which the detachable daypack can be attached in the front area. The small zip-off front daypack has a slip pocket in the main compartment and a zippered pocket on the front. Additional small items can be stowed in side pockets.
Padded Back System
The small daypack is equipped with the Padded Back System, which promises maximum comfort even when carrying this small backpack with a padded back panel and ergonomically shaped, padded shoulder straps.
Materials used - Polyamide and Polyester
420 HD Nylon
The classic 420 den nylon material in the "high density" (HD) version used here in 420 den thickness gives the backpack a very high tear strength. The material is made waterproof by the triple PU coating.
T-Rain Rip
The highly tear and abrasion resistant RipStop fabric is made of interwoven thicker threads for vibrant, textured surface. The material is waterproof due to the PU coating.
T-Snow Crust Eco
The lightweight, tear and abrasion resistant polyamide fabric has a fine pattern reminiscent of ordered snow crystals. Thanks to the PU coating on the inside, the material is waterproof; it also has a PFC-free finish.
TEXTREME 6.6
The textured polyester material made of 600 den threads is also robust and color-resistant, as well as waterproof thanks to PU coating.
