Optimized MOLLE Backpack for Radio Operators

The Eberlestock F3F FAC Track Pack, in its latest version, is a modular radio backpack with a superior carrying system. Serving as a link between ground forces and aerial firepower, the radio is an essential piece of equipment that can be optimally transported and operated in this communication backpack. The usual high quality combined with the best integration into tactical gear makes this operations backpack a highlight for regular users, while its robust construction also scores points for bushcrafting in the underbrush.

    Easily Accessible Main Compartment

Primary access to the main compartment is provided by the large zipper on the front, allowing specific equipment to be taken from the backpack without having to rummage. For optimal use with radios, this model has an internal MOLLE area to attach radio pouches on the inside. Here, the communication device of choice can be used, as there is enough space for larger multiband radios such as the AN/PRC-117G with four MOLLE loops in width and six straps in height. Alternatively, the area can also be used for multipurpose or camera pouches. A zipper at the top of the back system serves as a generous pass-through for cables and antennas, while on the right and left there are classic pass-throughs for hydration tubes. Secondary access from the top makes it easier to operate the radio or change batteries. Accessories such as antennas can be placed in the side slip pockets, which can also be used for hydration bladders.

    External Pockets for More Organization

To optimally organize the operational equipment, the combat backpack has three external zip pockets. The lid compartment without subdivisions provides just the right space for the rain jacket or other equipment that should be quickly accessible. On the front, there is a multipurpose pocket with an inner mesh pocket at the bottom, which securely stores small items at risk of loss thanks to a zipper. The upper mounted pocket provides additional storage space and has an external loop surface suitable for fluorescent patches or troop identification. Between the pockets, a small space is provided for better handling, which can also serve as a rifle rest. On each side, there is an open water bottle pocket at the bottom, made of robust Cordura in the back and an elastic material in the front to accommodate bulky canteens. These pockets can also be used to secure tripods against sliding down. In the bottom, there is a flat zip compartment with an integrated rain cover that reliably protects against heavy rain and is also connected to the backpack so it cannot be lost.

    External Attachment Options

To individualize the modular backpack, generous MOLLE loops are attached to the sides, lid, bottom, and waist belt. This allows for modular side pouches, magazine pouches, multipurpose pouches, and pouches for optronic devices to be added. A compression strap on each side keeps the filled backpack compact and helps in securing tripods, trekking poles, and optics. The compression strap on the front relieves the zippers and additionally maintains the backpack's shape. The three compression straps can be quickly opened and easily adjusted with the buckle fasteners.

Modern Carrying System with Polymer Frame

The proven Eberlestock carrying system features height-adjustable shoulder straps that can be adapted to different back lengths. On the front of the shoulders, there is a D-ring and a loop with the Eberlestock logo on each, serving as a guide for hydration tubes and as an attachment loop for GPS devices. The lightweight but stable Gossamer G-Type plastic frame protects the back from angular objects and significantly helps transfer the backpack's weight to the hip belt. It is flatter than the Intex II and has a balanced ratio of vertical stiffness and torsional flexibility. For optimal compatibility with tactical gear, the hip belt is removable. The generous padding with large-pore spacer fabric increases ventilation and contributes to the outstanding wearing comfort. Loading handles on the top and sides make lifting the backpack easier, especially in vehicles and tight spaces.
