Ice cold tactical with Winter Combat Shirt
UF Pro has taken on the challenge of being ideally positioned for an active mission in freezing temperatures without losing mobility and struggling with temperature management with the second generation of its AcE Winter Combat Shirt 2nd Gen. When icy temperatures demand the best possible protection against the cold, but the combination with a backpack, additional jackets and PPE threatens to restrict freedom of movement, the tactical combat shirt comes into play, balancing out temperature fluctuations and scoring points with a smart combination of material and its workmanship in any mission, no matter how wintry.
High performance material and technical design
The Winter Combat Shirt relies on the interaction of differently processed materials in the various demanding areas of the body. Basically, the shirt combines 3 layers of clothing and forms underwear, midwear and outerwear.
The windproof and highly water-repellent outer material is made of 100% nylon, which provides the basis for weather protection. The outer material is processed in such a way that it is as noiseless as possible, i.e. material rustling is avoided as much as possible.
The outer material is not only backed by an insulating lining, but there is also an air pocket between the two layers. This forms an additional insulation layer and supports an optimal body climate: moisture and warmth are ideally balanced, both when the body core temperature is elevated in an active state and when at rest.
The sleeves of the Combat Shirt are double-insulated to protect this part of the body that is exposed to the cold: UF Pro has ensured here with G-LOFT lining and merino wool that excellent thermal insulation properties meet moisture-wicking, odour-inhibiting qualities. Moisture management and protection from the cold are thus guaranteed in one go.
The UF Pro air/pac system on the shoulders and upper back serves two purposes: The air-pac system prevents cold air from entering and cushions the shoulders and upper back to make sharing with a plate carrier or backpack as comfortable as possible.
Functional design for use with PPE
Thanks to the G-Loft synthetic fibre in particular, the shirt does not lose its structure and functionality. Even when the shirt is folded and tucked into the smallest space, the material unfolds completely again without the insulation properties suffering.
The angled front zip is used for maximum combinability: When wearing an additional hardshell or thermal jacket, the angled zip of the Combat Shirt is not in the way and there is no overlapping. In this way, not only tangling but also pressure points are avoided and wearing comfort is significantly increased.
Temperature regulation through zips
Even when wearing with a plate carrier or backpack, the kangaroo pockets can be reached at all times. Thanks to the mesh inside, they can also allow fresh outside air to flow directly to the body core and dissipate excess heat at the same time.
Additional, strategically placed vents can be opened quickly and with one hand using the smooth-running YKK two-way zips, so that body heat can be regulated manually.
