Tactical Boots for Maximum Mobility
The Salomon X Ultra Forces Mid stands out as a mid-height tactical boot that is ideal for rapid and agile operations as well as low-visibility operations. It combines the agility of a trail running shoe with the robust stability of a light hiking boot. Equipped with an Advanced Chassis, this boot provides excellent lateral support and features puncture protection that safeguards the foot without compromising freedom of movement. In the GTX version, the shoe is equipped with a Gore-Tex membrane, making it waterproof.
Materials and Construction
The upper is made from a combination of Anti-Debris Mesh, PU-coated leather, and single-layer mesh. This selection of materials ensures an optimal balance between robustness and flexibility, while the non-reflective properties keep the boot discreet in sensitive operations.
Robust Anti-Debris Mesh
The tightly woven Anti-Debris Mesh prevents the penetration of dirt, ensuring high levels of hygiene and comfort inside the shoe, even under demanding conditions.
PU-Coated Leather
The PU coating reinforces the boot’s leather, enhancing protection against abrasion and increasing the shoe’s durability. This coating also makes the boot water-resistant and easy to maintain, ideal for use in extreme environments.
Gore-Tex Membrane
The Gore-Tex membrane is sandwiched between the outer material and the lining. It consists of a microporous membrane made from expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE). This membrane has more than 9 billion pores per square inch, small enough to prevent water from entering while large enough to allow water vapor to escape. This ensures that the boot is both waterproof and breathable, keeping the foot dry and comfortable under extreme conditions.
Salomon Forces uses PFC-free solutions to ensure the water repellency of their shoes, minimizing environmental impact, hence the GTX GORE-TEX models are free from PFCeC (perfluorinated chemicals of environmental concern).Optimization through Technical Features
SensiFit System
The Salomon SensiFit system securely wraps the foot from the midsole to the lacing system, providing a precise, customized fit. This supports rapid movements such as climbing and rappelling and enhances stability. The gusseted tongue, attached to the upper, protects against the intrusion of particles and improves both comfort and fit by keeping the tongue centered.
Protection and Support Inside
The boot is reinforced inside to provide optimal support for dynamic movements. A protected toe cap and a wrap-around edge made of leather, synthetic, or rubber shield the feet from impacts and dirt.
Integrated Safety Features
Closed hooks minimize the risk that laces will catch on surroundings, while the lace pocket provides a practical solution for storing excess lace length, ensuring safe and uninterrupted running.

The OrthoLite insole offers comfort, breathability, and durability, supports moisture regulation, and controls odors, contributing to a pleasant foot climate. The Enigma Zero HT2 anti-puncture insert provides reliable protection against the penetration of sharp objects while maintaining the flexibility of the boot.
